We’re proud to recognize the second cohort of graduates from our Leading Others program, part of Vistal’s broader LeadingU leadership development initiative.

On May 12, 2026, a group of 17 employee owners gathered in West Fargo to mark the completion of a six-month journey focused on growing as frontline leaders. This cohort brought together a wide range of experience across companies, disciplines, and geographies, creating a dynamic learning environment grounded in shared growth.

Throughout the program, participants focused on building the skills that matter most in people leadership. From navigating tough conversations and strengthening communication to leading through change and supporting team performance, the experience is designed to move beyond theory and into real-world application.

Inside the Program

The Leading Others experience is designed to balance practical leadership tools with personal growth. Through virtual, cohort-based learning and real-time simulations, participants explored six core areas of leadership:

  • Personal Leadership – understanding values, strengths, and self-awareness

  • Performance Leadership – building focus, accountability, and results

  • Team Leadership – building trust, motivating teams, and creating inclusive environments

  • Change Leadership – navigating uncertainty and driving transformation

  • Visionary Leadership – aligning team goals with the company’s strategic direction

  • Cultural & Inclusive Leadership – promoting equity and belonging within teams

Consistent, Intentional Leadership

During the graduation ceremony, Vistal CEO Shane Waslaski highlighted a key theme from the program: leadership growth often comes from the small, consistent actions people take every day. What may feel unnoticeable in the moment builds over time and plays a major role in shaping both individual leaders and the broader ESOP.

As Vistal continues to grow and evolve, that intentional approach to leadership becomes even more important. The decisions people make, the conversations they have, and the way they show up each day all contribute to the future of the company.

Participants shared how the program has already influenced their approach to leadership and communication.

“It gave me a better framework for setting expectations, holding people accountable, and communicating more clearly.”
– Kirby Rudolph

“Everybody in the course has a different personality and a different approach. I found it very valuable to listen to their approaches and implement those ideas to improve my own.”
– Greg Meyer

“Investing in leadership development makes me feel supported and trusted to grow beyond just technical responsibilities.”

Looking Ahead

Leadership development doesn’t stop at graduation. Each participant leaves the program with tools they can continue to build, along with a deeper understanding of what it means to lead with intention inside an ESOP.

Programs like Leading Others help strengthen not just individual leaders, but the culture and future of Vistal as a whole.

Congratulations to our second cohort of graduates. We’re looking forward to seeing how you continue to grow and lead.
